8 December 2010 14:32Day 05 – Your definition of love, in great detail
- 1 Corinthians 13:4 (Paraphrased a bit.)
I'm... not Lutheran anymore. Was at one point. Even sang in my church choir. But that *points up to quote* has always been one of my favourite quotes from the Bible.
I have a few things to add to the Bible's definition. First, Love is unconditional. You either love someone entirely, always, regardless of what's going on, or you don't truly love them.
Second... love knows no gender. "Don't judge someone on whom they love, but rather on whether they love." I have my reasons for holding that opinion, but for the moment I'll not discuss them.
Third... there's more than one kind of love. Obviously, there's romantic love. There's also a platonic love, which I feel for all of my friends... and there's familial love, which I feel currently only for two people: Grandpa and Yami.

It's... actually kind of hard to define love. But you know it when you see it. I've seen it a lot. Between Yami and Setep-sy, to name one prominant example in my life. Also between Joey and Rika. To a certain extent between me and Jenifer, but... I've discussed our insecurities about our relationship in a previous answer. Between me and Grandpa, too. There are lots of people I love, and I'm happy I've got them. :)

...Ra's beak, how can I follow up when Yugi gave such an excellent definition? *sigh* Suffice it to say I agree almost entirely with Yugi's point of view.
...Also, Yugi? Love you too. In an entirely familial way.

...I actually don't have much more to say on the matter. Yugi's definition coincides pretty much exactly with mine.
